Sleep to Dream:

I had one of my MOST OBVIOUS dreams last night:

I was actively helping someone "birth a baby." I know, strange. But the actual birthing process was very vivid...I was essentially the person slowly bringing this little person into the world. Although I don't remember the baby too much--I think it was a boy.

As soon as I woke up I remembered the dream. Since I usually remember, contemplate and discuss dreams I knew exactly WHAT this dream meant.

Birth
(via Dream Moods)
To dream of giving birth or see someone else giving birth, suggests that you are giving birth to a new idea or project.

I started writing a new short story yesterday--I went to bed thinking about how to make it "more." Henceforth the dream, I think.

Dreaming is an important part of life. At least I tell myself this on a regular basis. I honestly believe that our sub-conscious or inner-self is trying to process our active daily life.

I am not alone. There are more books and studies and essays on this topic than anyone even has time to read.

"We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."

PROSPERO, Shakespeare

"To sleep, perchance to dream-
ay, there's the rub."

HAMLET, Shakespeare

Unfortunately I am no further into the short story as I was last night when I was working on it. It is currently 550 words in length. Maybe I need to add a "dream sequence."
